Hello, my name is Daniel; and I would like to introduce myself. This is my very first time in doing something like this, hence the title "A New Adventure" so please be kind. Not to worry I suppose. I'm sure I'm among friends.
    I am a conservative Republican here in San Antonio, Tx. I've lived here since 1980. So most of my views will reflect in that manner. Starting with the Great Communicator himself, president Ronald Reagan, all the way through, my votes have been cast for the Republican ticket. Not to be disparaging, but I even voted for Bob Dole in '96 knowing full well he had no chance of defeating Clinton. Be that as it may and acknowledging that he has taken a pummeling from every direction, I still very much support president Bush. As far as I can see, he has been sincere and strong in protecting America from its enemies. 
    But before we get into the political realm, I would just like to reminice a little. The weather here has been brutally hot. We have been going through the hundreds temperture wise for the last few days. Not to mention, very little rain. All this reminds me of my days in high school football in the middle seventies back in Ft Worth, Tx. 
    Oh how we dreaded that day when we knew that we would be getting a call or letter from the football coach letting us know that two-a-day practices would begin soon. In fact, I remember one of my teammates saying he left his phone off the hook so he would not receive that dreaded call. Alas, however, there was no way to avoid it. How terrifying those images
of being in the pads and helmet, constantly crashing into one another in the oppresive Texas August heat (global warming had nothing on this). At the same time being yelled and screamed at for our efforts. Then when practice came to and end, back we came a few hours later to do it all over again without having recovered from the first session. What insanity! Where were the people with the straight jackets to save us from ourselves!
    Anyway, this is my beginning blog. Please enjoy it.
